Do not max cosmetics before hull tier three. Do not ignore harpoon — many players cannot board fast frigates without sail disable tools. Do not hoard reales for land fashion while Jackdaw falls behind story fleet requirements. Recommended Tiers by Story Sequence

By Sequence 04, aim for hull tier two and cannon tier two minimum. By the first major fort assault, harpoon tier one and mortar unlock are strongly recommended.
